Call for PhD Position at CAB–CSIC
November 2025We are inviting applications for a PhD position at the Centro de Astrobiología (CAB, CSIC–INTA) in Madrid, Spain. The successful candidate will join the JWST–AGN Evolution Project, working under the supervision of Dr. Michele Perna and Dr. Ismael García-Bernete.
The project focuses on investigating how supermassive black holes grow and impact their host galaxies using observations from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and complementary multi-wavelength data. The PhD candidate will participate in the analysis of AGN-driven outflows, modelling of AGN emission, and interpretation of their effects on galaxy evolution across cosmic time.
Applicants should hold (or expect to hold) a master’s degree in astrophysics or a closely related field. Experience with data analysis, spectroscopy, or numerical modelling is an asset. For more information or to express interest, please contact mperna@cab.inta-csic.es and igarcia@cab.inta-csic.es.
